NOW ACCEPTING CLIENTS - Friday & Weekends
She/Her/Hers
My Origins:
I realized my path of becoming a counselor while volunteering with children in the foster care system and later working in the public school system. The resilience in the face of extreme struggle that I saw in the kids and teens I spent time with inspired me to be someone who could help people live boldly despite their personal hardships. Growing up, I was always drawn to stories, reading them, watching them, and eventually telling them. I have applied this creative bent to counseling in that I believe we are all the main characters of our own story; sometimes, you just need some help to see that.
I am in the final chapter of my graduate school journey to obtain a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas this May.
Specialty:
I am still honing where my particular specialty will be, but I have a deep passion for breaking communication barriers between generations and helping to cultivate healthy coping skills alongside developing emotional regulation tools. I have experience with children, teens, and adults who have experienced the foster care system, childhood trauma, and medical trauma. I am drawn to grief and all the forms it takes. Loss is an ocean, and there is no one right way to navigate it. I hope to help individuals experiencing grief find a way to process and begin a healing journey; however, that might look for them.
Therapeutic Approach:
I believe that we are all beautifully unique and have stories worth telling. I take a Narrative approach that remembers each person is the expert of their own life, and I firmly believe we are more than our problems, diagnoses, or hardest moments. In our work together, I hope to gently explore the stories that have shaped your experiences, highlight moments of strength and resilience, and co-author new narratives that reflect your values, hopes, and sense of self. I also believe that meaningful therapy allows space for authenticity, humor, and real conversation. Healing does not have to be stiff or overly clinical to be effective, when appropriate, I welcome laughter, honesty, and moments of lightness alongside the deeper work, creating a space that feels both grounded and human.
Personal Note:
When I am not in sessions or working on notes, you can find me playing games or running them for my friends, planning my next trip somewhere across the world, writing the novel I've been working on for the past 10 years, or pretending to be a professional movie critic. I love all things nerdy and creative. I have the "I bet I could do that" gene, and I am constantly picking up new hobbies, be it leather working, D&D, or making my own clothes. We only have one life, and I hope to experience every bit of it!
