NOW ACCEPTING CLIENTS VIRTUALLY
She/Her/Hers
My Origins:
I have always been a collector of stories—those passed down through family, captured in art, or lived quietly between cultures. As the child of refugees, born and raised in Oslo, Norway, I learned early what it meant to feel “out of place” in many spaces at once. Those experiences shaped my deep curiosity about people, identity, and meaning, and planted the seed for my desire to walk alongside others as they navigate life’s complexities.
I began my professional journey as a social worker in Norway and later found myself building a new life in Houston, Texas. As I continued my education in the United States, I pursued a second bachelor’s degree in psychology and am now in my final year of a master’s program in clinical mental health counseling.
Areas of Focus:
I am especially passionate about working with BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities. My goal is to empower clients by strengthening their sense of self, honoring their lived experiences, and meeting them exactly where they are. I am particularly drawn to working with individuals who feel tension between their authentic selves and cultural or societal expectations.
Additional areas of focus include depression, anxiety, perfectionism, neurodivergence, identity exploration, career concerns, dating and relationships, grief and loss, addiction, trauma, and questions of self-worth.
Therapeutic Approach:
My work is grounded in an existential-feminist, multicultural, and solution-focused framework. I see you as the expert on your own life and approach therapy with care and curiosity, honoring the cultural, relational, and systemic influences that shape who you are. I believe the therapeutic relationship is deeply meaningful, and I strive to create a culturally responsive, collaborative space that honors your identity and experiences, where you feel seen, respected, and supported as we shape your counseling journey together.
Personal Note:
I deeply believe in the power of artistic expression as a way of understanding the human experience. I am a passionate painter and writer, and I have traveled to over 35 countries—each one humbling me in new and unexpected ways. I speak Norwegian, Arabic, and English, and in my free time, I enjoy reading and cooking historically “forgotten” recipes.
