RELATIONSHIP CONCERNS: Sometimes you love each other and still don't know how to reach each other anymore.
The argument starts over dishes. Money. A phone. Being late. Someone's tone. But ten minutes later, you are arguing about something that happened three years ago. One person wants to talk immediately. The other shuts down. One follows. One pulls away. Both leave the conversation feeling misunderstood.
Relationships can become lonely even when two people are still together.
You sleep in the same bed but barely talk. Conversations become logistics. Who is picking up the kids? Did you pay the bill? What time will you be home? Somewhere along the way, the relationship became a household management system. You may miss the person sitting right beside you.
An affair. Messages you discovered. A lie. Something hidden. A boundary crossed. Or perhaps there was no single dramatic event. Trust slowly disappeared after years of broken promises and unresolved hurt. Other relationships struggle with intimacy, parenting, in-laws, finances, jealousy, resentment, different expectations, or simply feeling taken for granted. At Renna Counseling, relationship work creates room to move beyond the argument itself and understand what each person is actually trying to communicate underneath it. Sometimes “You never help me” means: I feel alone.Sometimes “Leave me alone” means: I'm overwhelmed and I don't know how to do this without making things worse.Sometimes “You don't care” means: I miss feeling important to you. The goal is not deciding who wins the argument. It is understanding what keeps happening between you—and whether a different kind of conversation is possible.
Sometimes the concern is trust.
